Greetings,
I’m excited to introduce you to the Coalition for Student Wellbeing’s new blog, a platform dedicated to sharing stories and insights that drive our mission to improve student mental health.
Though we have the fortune of being a new organization, our mission, and our work is nothing new. In 2023, I had the pleasure of working alongside the Mary Christie Institute to elevate student voices within their work, leading to the founding of the National Youth Council on College Mental Health. This group brought together students from across the nation, all with stories of their own, who shared valuable perspectives that deserved to be heard by leaders in higher education.
In August of 2024, we had the honor of being awarded a grant from the Mary Christie Institute to scale our efforts and officially launch the Coalition for Student Wellbeing. With the same mission of amplifying student voices in policymaking, we aim to improve health outcomes on campus. This transition allows us to broaden our impact, focusing on advocacy, collaboration, and education to promote student mental health and well-being across colleges and universities.
This blog will be a critical part of our work, offering a space for individuals to share their personal stories and experiences with leaders in higher education, students, and the broader public. It will also serve as a platform to highlight the progress and initiatives of our coalition. We invite you to subscribe to our Substack and stay tuned for news, insights, and perspectives from across the student mental health landscape.
I’m incredibly energized by the commitment of college presidents, administrators, and leaders to our mission and am humbled to lead the coalition in this important work.
We encourage you to reach out to learn more about how the Coalition for Student Wellbeing can collaborate with you or your organization at info@c4sw.org.
Best Regards,
Carson Domey
