NEWS: Coalition for Student Wellbeing Announces Partnership with The Inspired Internet Pledge
The Coalition for Student Wellbeing is excited to share that we have joined The Inspired Internet Pledge as an advisory organization. The Inspired Internet Pledge is a commitment by all who work within the digital ecosystem to unite with the common goal of making the Internet a safer and healthier place for everyone, especially young people.
Convened by the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, the initiative aims to create a healthier digital ecosystem for young people by bridging research and clinical expertise with the technology sector and policymakers.
“This partnership provides a unique opportunity for the coalition to bring more youth voices to the table, supporting the pledge’s mission to create a healthier digital ecosystem for young people. Having had the opportunity to collaborate with the Digital Wellness Lab in the past — I look forward to the coalition supporting and partnering with other signatories and advisors in our shared mission of creating a healthier future for our young people.” — Carson Domey, Executive Director
The Inspired Internet Pledge is governed by three principles:
Tune for emotional wellbeing: The pledge commits to understanding which actions and content correlate with wellbeing outcomes and use this information to inform product development.
Listen to and act on insights from people who have experienced harm online
Share lessons collaboratively: The pledge allows the opportunity to foster collaboration between the industry in order to promote creative solutions to make the internet a healthier place for everyone.
Signatories of the Inspired Internet Pledge include Pinterest (Founding Signatory), Discord, Snapchat, TikTok, and many others. Other advisory organizations include Active Minds, Half the Story, Coalition to End Social Isolation & Loneliness, and the Family Online Safety Institute.
